Bad things have been kicking off in the real world outside our comfortable little sphere of Metal.  Things that affect those of us who live here.  I think it’s time I did something to address this by highlighting those members of the Metal community this stuff directly effects.

It may directly affect them, but it also has an indirect affect on all of us.  We’re “different”, so we’ll be next.

Who am I talking about?  The women, sex workers, kinksters and LGBTQIA+ people who are an integral part of Metal.  Come on… where do you think the leather gear Judas Priest pioneered in the 80’s came from?  Do you really thing the Accept song London Leather Boys is about bikers?  Really?

I’m not just talking about people like Rob Halford and Otep Shamaya.  I’m talking about Twitch streamers like Raven_Alternative (who also publishes on OnlyFans).

As those of you who listen to the Wyrd Ways Rock Show podcast will already know, I’ve started including more women in the playlists and started talking about these things more.  I’m also going to bring my woke agenda to the website, too.
