How You Can Listen To WWRS: The Forge

The Forge

A few practicalities have meant that I’ve had to make a few changes in how WWRS: The Forge is broadcast to all you lovely people out there.  For one thing, I’ve had to bin off Shoutengine.  The biggest problem with that one was that there was no way to sign in to your account via a username and password.  You signed in with either your Twitter account or your Google account or Facebook.  Now since I have several Twitter accounts and a couple of Google accounts (like a lot of people), that made signing in somewhat of a pain.  So I transferred one of the feeds to a service called Sounder, which seems to be working pretty well so far.

How does that effect you, the listener?  Not a whole lot, to be honest.  In fact it probably makes it easier for you to subscribe to and download shows so you don’t miss out.  It also has prompted me to add another couple of things.  One is a Patreon page.  If you want to get something played on the show and you want to get the show before anyone else and at a higher bitrate for better quality, that’s where you can do it.  You’ll get a download link that’s only available to patrons.

I’m also going to add a Patrons-only Discord server, so if you want to leave me a message, tip me off about a band you’ve heard or just shoot the proverbial, you’ll be able to do it.

Incidentally, I’m getting ready to create a Doctor Who podcast (it was going to be a Youtube video exclusive thing, but my newly built PC doesn’t have a webcam built in like my laptop did, and I’ve not really got the facilities at home to do this justice) from the perspective of a Who lifer, with reviews of books, the Big Finish audios, explanations of the deeper lore and plot points that other people commentating might have missed or not even know about and so on – but that’ll depend on whether I can afford them, of course.

OK.  Enough of the preamble.  Let’s get on with this.  All you have to do is click the links:

Apple Podcasts (used to be iTunes)

Google Podcasts

And for those of you who want to use RSS to subscribe to the feed, there’s THIS LINK.
