Here we are in the opening days of September. 2026 is 75% done and with the Stonedead Festival firmly in the rearview mirror (not going to acknowledge Reading and Leeds since they don’t acknowledge Rock and Metal anymore), festival season really is done for this year. That does mean that release schedules will be ramping up towards Christmas and the bands will be back to hitting the road and playing at a venue near you.
Do yourselves a favour and find some of the smaller venues and go see some bands you might never have seen before. When you do, make sure you buy some merch or else the band might literally not be able to eat that night. You’ll also get the warm and fuzzy feeling of a good night out with some new friends and a new band to talk about at work/school the next day.
Talking of new bands, that’s something that The Wyrd Ways Rock Show is always happy to help you with finding, especially if you’re in the market for new music. Alongside new music from bands you may not have heard of before like Night Laser, James Kennedy & The Underdogs and Wasted Wizards, you’ll also find new music from old friends (at least musically) like Wolf, Xentrix, Absolute Power and Amon Amarth.
Not only that, but we also have a chat with Pauline and Brett from Nottingham-based Goth and Black Metal practitioners, The Medea Project. Have to admit they picked some cracking tracks to go with the interview, especially those ones from Woods Of Ypres and Triptykon.
So let’s shake off that post-festival comedown with some quality Metal.
Turn it up and play it LOUD!
